Registration

To join the RTA as an RTA Business Partner you need to fill in and submit the online registration form for your chosen category and level of membership. There are several parts to the registration form:
  • Your Registration Data – Standard information that will assist us in providing you with a high standard of personalised service, and an equitable deal for your travel-related products and services experiences.
  • Your Online Profile Data – The additional information that you enter, using the online editor, covering more detailed information on your business.
The registration form also includes the following agreements for your electronic signature:
  • The RTA General Business Agreement – Our assurance that we will not use your data (designated private, shared internally, or public) for any reason other than stipulated without your written consent. That you will respect our intellectual property rights.
  • RTA Development Partners Data Research Agreement – Authorising us to allow selected Development Partners (university or tourism organisation research groups) access to your information on our `system (less your personal or identifying information) to study the responsible tourism industry and the RTA’s role in it. Bear in mind, we offer this service to Development Partner research groups in exchange for an agreed donation made to VWB (Volunteers Without Borders) which is used to fund development projects.
  • Secured Investment Funding Agreement for RTA Business Partners - Optional - Membership of this scheme - which requires you to submit a standard monthly report - a summary of financial and operational data - A minimum of 2 years of reporting, will allow you to be considered for crowdfunding or impact loans to assist you in developing/expanding your business. 
Using the Online Editor
Your registration will be confirmed by email once registration has been approvd. You will be sent a unique ID and password that allows you to access the 'user friendly' RTA Online Editor to manage the content and imagery on your profile yourself.
Payment of monthly fees/donations only commences when you make or receive your first booking. However, we would really appreciate it if you made a one-off donation to VWB to help us fund volunteer and training costs. 
It also allows you to provide authentication for access to forums, guest comments, competitions, etc. Assistance is available if needed, from VWB Volunteers who can be organized by the RTA Local Agent.

RTA Business Local Agents Agreements.

General Business Agreement
As an RTA Local Agent I accept that:

  • I will comply with the RTA Best Practices I have agreed to in the database displayed on my online profile and will work towards a higher level of compliance as and when I can.
  • I will respect the RTA’s intellectual property rights over the business model used on the platform and will not do anything to infringe on them.
  • I accept full responsibility under the law for any content or comment that I submit or upload to the RTA Platform (Online profiles, forums, resources, etc.)
  • I will guarantee that the ‘fees’ I offer on my RTA online profile will be based on my time, costs involved – and not calculated on a ‘commission basis’.
  • I will comply with the RTA Best Practices I have agreed to in the database displayed on my online profile and will work towards a higher level of compliance as and when I can.
  • I will undertake the development tasks required of me: tourist routes, business partner, development partner recruitment, and do what I can to build the local RTA business network.
  • In my role as the Destination Representative for VWB, I will organise VWB’s business skills training workshops to upgrade the business and hospitality service-related skills of the Business Partners in my network.
  • I will handle enquiries and bookings from RTA Ambassadors promptly, providing the best level of personalised service that I can.
  • I will do my best to secure (discounts, upgrades, complimentary services), from the RTA Business Partners, for RTA Ambassadors ensuring a ‘good deal’ for both.
  • Where the RTA Business Partner opts to use the RTA Barter System - I will work with both parties involved to ensure that transaction is completed efficiently.
  • I will undertake the other tasks associated with my role: securing search page advertising, undertaking progress and business partner satisfaction surveys, etc., to the best of my ability.
  • I agree to carry my RTA Business Partner’s logo and hyperlink in a prominent position on my main website, social media pages (and on other promotional documents/files where appropriate.)
  • I will encourage RTA Club Members to review/ask questions about my stated responsible tourism best practice compliance where the request to do so is considered reasonable.
  • I hereby give my permission for RTA Club Members to post comments related to my compliance with my stated responsible tourism best practices compliance (service standard, safety, security, etc.) on my RTA online profile comments section provided:
    • They use a booking confirmation reference number issued by the RTA Local Agent for the date(s) of service.
    • They have complied with the RTAs comment upload protocols under which the appropriate box must be clicked wherever negative comment is made, allowing us the 7 days to respond and hopefully address any issues before a comment is uploaded.
  • In my role as VWB Local Agent, I will take full responsibility for ensuring that any actions/activities undertaken by myself or volunteers in my charge, will comply with the laws and regulations of the host country.
  • The RTA reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of membership as the business model develops.

RTA Development Partners Data Research Agreement

  • I accept that the RTA raises donor funding for its non-profit arm Volunteers Without Borders from its registered RTA Development Partners, who benefit from researching its unique business model. That to do so, they will NOT be given access to my (personal identifier information.).

In my VWB role, I will facilitate this research and understand that it will be supported by funds allocated to me for that purpose from VWB.

 

Secured Investment Funding Agreement for RTA Business Partners.
  • This is an opt-in this scheme - which requires you to submit a standard monthly report - a summary of financial and operational data – to the RTA Admin – using the simple format provided. A minimum of 2 years' reports will allow you to be considered for crowdfunding or impact loans at preferential rates secured via the RTA to assist you in developing/expanding your business.
  • RTA Local Agents must subscribe to this system as along with other data it informs their performance assessment at the end of each concession period.
